Living by miligrams is like climbing a mountain, a big one, like the Mount Everest. You won't be satisfied while you don't reach your goal. After a few days of hiking, there's still a long way to go. You got to make it to the top, no matter what. The same goes for the miligrams. The amount of miligrams is good, but could be better, much better. It's not enough while you don't see the end. It's never enough and, because of that, not everyone survives.
On Mount Everest, frozen corpses were found quite a few times already. Poor adventurers, didn't make it to the end. The same goes for the ones whose best friends are the miligrams. While one dies from the extreme cold, the other dies from hepatic failure. One could have had an accident, while the other overdosed and never woke up again. But both have a similarity: they won't be satisfied if they can't reach the peak. The highest place on Earth, the highest high. The dopaminergic channels, the very same ones. Satisfaction. It's all about it.
The metres hiked increase with time, as well as the miligrams. Never enough, always more. Until the liver dies, until hypothermia comes, until the breath ceases together with the heart.
